Our competition teams are dedicated to excellence, teaching our dancers to perform at their highest level while building confidence, discipline, and resilience. Cedarburg Pom & Dance has four competition teams - two elementary teams and two middle school teams.
Our Cedarburg Pom & Dance competition program is modeled after the Cedarburg High School Dance Team and serves as a feeder program to the high school level. Our competition teams compete at four to six dance competitions throughout southeastern Wisconsin during our season. Many teams compete in two to three routines at each competition. We also provide opportunities for dancers to learn and compete in solos, duets, and trios. Dancers interested in joining our competition teams must have prior dance experience and must have taken at least one rec class with Cedarburg Pom & Dance.
Our competition season runs June 1, 2026 - March 14, 2027, and we ask all dancers to commit to attending weekly practices and all competitions unless due to illness or injury. Cedarburg Pom & Dance holds placements in May where dancers can try out in front of an unbiased judging panel and be placed on a team that best fits their ability and skill level. Competition Team Requirements
- Previous enrollment in at least one rec Poms session and coach approval
- Attendance at all weekly team practices (two days a week; mini one day)
- Attendance at ALL competitions and end of year Showcase
- Attendance is strongly encouraged at summer camp
- 80% attendance of additional events (parades,festival performances, football & basketball games, etc.)
- Attendance at Fundraising Events
- Extra mandatory practices may be required during competition weeks
